Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr., world famous for his role as Iron Man, recently announced the launch of his new foundation at the Amazon Re:Mars conference in Las Vegas that will be committed to cleaning up the environment using nanotechnology and robotics.
He revealed that he had been told about the possibilities of the technology a few weeks before the conference by a panel of experts, before joking: “God, I love experts. They’re like Wikipedia with character defects.”
Throughout the talk, Downey Jr. spoke about the significance of artificial intelligence, arguing that it’s a technological advancement that gives him hope. He also admitted to feeling concerned about the environment and his own personal impact on it.
