This man was once homeless, he now helps bring homeless people to shelter on cold nights
B.B. McGowan once used to sleep on the streets of Dallas, Texas, until Oak Lawn United Methodist Church helped him get sober. The man now is on a mission to give back to the people who are struggling to make ends meet.
This is why he leaves the comfort of his home and drives around the city to help bring homeless people to shelter on cold winter evenings.
With temperatures in the city recently dropping below freezing—and wind chills sometimes falling into the single digits—McGowan will hop into a church van and search the streets for homeless people. If he encounters someone who can be encouraged to seek shelter, McGowan gently helps them into his van and drives them to the nearest homeless shelter.
