Stephen Hawking’s family pays for a special Easter meal for the homeless on the same day as his funeral
On the day of his funeral, Stephen Hawking’s family made a special donation to charity FoodCycle Cambridge so that homeless people could enjoy a special Easter feast.
FoodCycle Cambridge tweeted that they were “so grateful to the Hawking family for their generous donation so we could give our guests an extra special Easter meal.”
“Lucy Hawking contacted me and mentioned that the family would like to make a donation so that while the funeral was taking place, people would be sitting down to a hot meal on Stephen,” said Alex Collis of FoodCycle. The generous donation would go on to provide hundreds of meals for older people, people with mental health issues, and the long-term unemployed, besides the city’s homeless.
