Golden Retriever saves a man from drowning in South Carolina
A 7-year-old golden retriever – Woody – is being hailed as a hero after he saved the life of a man who fell into the cold and choppy Okatie River in South Carolina.
Woody was on the banks of the river when he saw Mason Ringer’s boat capsize. Ringer was with two coworkers, taking a lunch break while refurbishing a dock, when the boat tipped over.
While one of the men swam to safety, another one was pulled out from the water by three people on a passing boat, leaving Woody to take care of Ringer. The alert dog jumped into the river immediately and pulled Ringer to a nearby dock.
Ringer called the incidence a ‘miracle’ and plans on treating the dog to a big steak.
